Amanda Wood joined the staff of the Correctional Management Institute of Texas (CMIT) in February 2001. Prior to working for CMIT, Amanda was as an auditor for the Health Services Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
As a coordinator, Amanda is responsible for the Juvenile Division of the Texas Probation Training Academy. This includes overseeing the Juvenile Probation and Detention Officer Basic Training, Training for Staff Trainers, Experienced Probation and Parole Officer Trainings. She is also responsible for the annual Chief Probation Officers Conference, annual conference on managing juveniles with sexual behavior problems, technical assistance programs such as Staff Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Advanced Courtroom Testimony and is in the process of developing the New Chief's Orientation Program.
Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in Management in 1996 from Sam Houston State University.
